Regina-Nino Mion on filosoof ja kunstiteadlane, kelle peamised uurimissuunad on fenomenoloogia (Husserl), kunstifilosoofia ja esteetika, ning pildiline representatsioon. Ta on kaitsnud bakalaureusekraadi (2002) Eesti Kunstiakadeemias skulptuuri erialal, magistrikraadi (2008) Tallinna Ülikoolis filosoofia erialal ning doktorikraadi (2014) Fribourg’i Ülikoolis Šveitsis samuti filosoofia erialal. Ta on saanud oma uurimistöö läbiviimiseks mitmeid teadusgrante: Sciex-NMSch stipendium (Fribourg’i Ülikool), TÜBITAK teadusgrant (Istanbuli Tehnikaülikool) ja Mobilitas Pluss järeldoktoritoetus (Eesti Kunstiakadeemia). Ta on andnud loenguid Islandi Ülikoolis, Helsingi Ülikoolis, Istanbuli Tehnikaülikoolis ja Ca’ Foscari Ülikoolis Veneetsias. Ta on avaldanud mitmeid teadusartikleid ning teinud koostööd kogumikele „The Pleasure of Pictures: Pictorial Experience and Aesthetic Appreciation“ (2018, ilmunud sarjas Routledge Research in Aesthetics) ja „The Iconology of Abstraction: Non-figurative Images and the Modern World“ (2020, ilmunud sarjas Routledge Advances in Art and Visual Studies).
